Private First Class Leon Litowitch, serial number 12160946, of Essex, New Jersey, served with the Medical Detachment of the 242nd Infantry Regiment in the 42nd Infantry Division, the Rainbow Division. He was killed in action on January 6, 1945, at the age of 27. He is buried at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Iselin, New Jersey.
